Pemerintah mengisyaratkan akan tetap menaikkan Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) menjadi 12% pada 2025 seperti diamanatkan Undang-Undang Harmonisasi Peraturan Perpajakan (UU HPP).
Sinyal tersebut disampaikan Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani saat rapat kerja dengan para anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) di Komisi XI DPR. Sri Mulyani menjawab pertanyaan para anggota DPR tentang kepastian kenaikan tarif PPN menjadi 12% pada 2025.
“Sudah ada UU, nya kita perlu siapkan agar itu bisa dijalankan. Tapi dengan penjelasan yang baik sehingga kita tetap bisa… bukannya membabi buta, tapi APBN memang tetap harus dijaga kesehatannnya,” tegas Sri Mulyani dalam rapat dengan Komisi XI, dikutip Senin (25/11/2024).
Kenaikan PPN dari 11% menjadi 12% akan berdampak pada ratusan bahkan ribuan barang yang masuk dalam objek PPN.
Seperti diketahui, PPN adalah pemungutan atas pajak konsumsi yang dibayar sendiri sehubungan penyerahan Barang Kena Pajak dan Jasa Kena Pajak.
PPN adalah jenis pajak yang dikenakan pada barang atau jasa tertentu saat terjadi transaksi antara penjual dan pembeli.
Tambahan biaya atau tarif kenaikan akan ditanggung si konsumen sehingga membebani masyarakat.
