Jelang penerapan makan bergizi gratis (MBG), impor susu ke Tanah Air tercatat meningkat. Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) membeberkan perkembangan impor komoditas susu Indonesia meningkat 7,07% sepanjang Januari hingga Oktober 2024, dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun sebelumnya.
Plt Kepala Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti mengatakan, impor susu ke Indonesia sepanjang Januari-Oktober 2024 telah mencapai 257.300 ton. Impor susu ini meningkat baik secara bulanan dan tahunan. Namun, Amalia memastikan kenaikan impor susu terjadi bukan di jenis susu segar.

Menurut Amalia, sebagian besar impor susu Indonesia a.l. milk cream dan susu bubuk. Sementara itu, impor susu segar hanya sedikit sekali. Adapun, impor susu Indonesia yang utama berasa dari Selandia Baru, AS dan Australia.
Seperti diketahui, polemik impor susu tak kena bea masuk menjadi sorotan. Pasalnya, peternak susu perah di Tanah Air mengeluhkan produksinya yang kalah bersaing.

Sebagai informasi, untuk menindaklanjuti kasus di atas, Menteri Pertanian langsung bergerak mengumpulkan para pemangku kepentingan, mulai dari peternak sapi perah, industri pengolah susu, sampai dengan pengepul di kantornya hari ini, untuk berdamai dan membuat kesepakatan bersama supaya industri bisa menyerap susu dari peternak nasional.
Sementara itu, bagi industri pengolah susu yang telah sepakat akan menyerap susu segar dari peternak, kata Amran, hari ini juga izin impor tersebut akan dikembalikan.
“Tetapi bagi seluruh industri yang baik, hari ini izinnya bisa diambil kembali, dikeluarin hari ini. Tetapi ada 5 perusahaan, itu kami tahan izinnya sampai semua kondusif seluruh Indonesia,” ujarnya.
